Ugh! Price increases coming!

Yep, we're all feelin' it these days. I haven't had an increase in prices in two years now, and it's inevitable ... sooo...

I expect to raise the price of my wedding package by 10-15% come September 1st. Many products will remain the same price but a few will increase. I think reprint pricing will remain the same.

So, if anyone reading this is considering a wedding booking, do it soon!

Thanks, Dave

Janette & Rick - July 19, 2008

UPDATE: Proofs are now online here!

UPDATE: The preliminary album design is now online here!

Saturday was a hot day in West Lafayette! And St.Thom's doesn't have much in the way of air conditioning!

As you can imagine, however, that did not slow our activities down one bit.

Janette gets a little help from her sisters early on:

And pretty soon mom is on board, too.

Things were in full swing and before long it will be ceremony time!

But first Janette must get the dress on. A one-of-a-kind affair, it was made by our bride and mother with input from several people (more on that later). Layer one on and layer two in progress:

Layer three:

And some of the details, which were contributed by friends, a piece at a time:

I caught the gals in a very lovely moment just before the ceremony, not a posed shot, I called for their attention as they were walking away from me, I just happened to notice the light and the way they were grouped. I'm very pleased with this one!

Moving on, our ceremony begins with a handshake...

Some singing (and let me tell you, this was quite the musical wedding... is it any wonder, JP Hurt was there!)...

... and a romantic image:

Sealing the deal:

A quick laugh:

Ok, so if you're reading this, you may well know that Janette and Rick are a... unique couple. LOL Perhaps nothing sums it up better than the groom's cake? :0)

The rest of the decor was very nice indeed:

The lighting at The Trails delivers again, a couple of examples:

Another way of doing things just a little differently, our couple toast one another:

Now here's something you don't see everyday; I wouldn't be surprised if this were a world record:

And we wrap things up with some dancing as Rick's mother looks on:

Thanks to everyone who helped out on Saturday, it was an event to remember!

This is just a quick preview, stay tuned for more coming in the next few days!

Melissa Watson

Melissa will be a Senior at McCutcheon High School this fall.

She was forced into the studio by her mother for some Senior Portraits! LOL. I get the feeling Melissa would rather be taking the photos, as you'll see later she is interested in photography.

However, as reluctant as she might have been, she was a natural, as I think you can see from the photos. It was tough narrowing it down to just 8 images to post on the blog!

Newest Gap model, anyone?

Very classy, very sophisticated...

Fun:

I love these next two, the spontaneity, the sense of motion:

As the photographer!

Art & Mary

Art and Mary are a wonderful couple from Chicago. Thank you to my friend Ryan Musch of FH Photographic for referring them to me.

I'm looking forward to photographing their wedding in October, but for now I have some images to show from their first (of two) engagement session.

I really feel like their attire, their expressions and interaction with each other and the lighting all came together to create some very special black and whites. I can honestly say I'm thrilled with these images! Keep an eye out for some very colorful images from part two of their session!

Wesley, Part Deux

Remember that striking Senior Portrait session from awhile back? I thought I'd include a couple more images from the second half of Wes' session.

Dave & Cathy

Dave and Cathy were referred to me by a good friend, and I'm happy to have been chosen as their wedding photographer. Dave and I actually met briefly some time back. Meeting Cathy was a treat, she has an infectious smile and pleasant demeanor.

This is from their Engagement Session at Reihle Plaza in Lafayette.

Janette & Rick

Another Engagement Session, this time at the Clegg Botanical Garden in Lafayette.

Janette and Rick are a quiet couple, with great taste in automobiles and footwear! ;0)

I'm looking forward to the wedding which will feature dresses and gowns of original design.

Kicking off Blogmania with Chemcoma

I've done band photography for Chemcoma on several occasions now, and with this session from a few months ago they turned me loose to do my own thing. With their rock/electronic/metal/industrial sound, I figured their rehearsal space would be an ideal environment - very crusty and within about two beats of being condemned.
