WLFI - TV18

Today was an easy but interesting assignment. I packed up the studio and headed to West Lafayette to the local CBS affiliate, WLFI TV18. We did new head shots for the news staff, a very straightforward assignment, but it was interesting interacting with the reporters. It was also interesting to see the "behind the scenes" environment of our local station.

We did the portraits green-screen, then I dropped in this background, which was shot separately while at the station. Pretty happy with the results, this is Niccole Caan:

Crystal & Travis - May 25

UPDATE: Proofs are online here!

UPDATE: The preliminary album design is now up here!

UPDATE: Hey everybody, I'll have the album preview up later today... hang in there!

Another Sunday wedding... in Illinois! This time in Peoria, my day started once again at the hair salon, but this time only the bride was getting hair done... so she got my full attention!

After that, we headed over to Crystal's brother Shawn's new place...

... where Crystal began her makeup. I have to say, I could've shot all day on the patio we were using, the light was gorgeous:

And a special friend was enjoying it as well:

The helper gets some help:

And before I knew it, it was dress time!

Makeup gets all kinds of uses...

Crystal gets some much needed refreshment:

But she does share:

And mom finally gets her moment...

Beautiful! :0)

Skipping ahead to the ceremony, does Travis look a little nervous here?

Not sure, but by the time Crystal is given away...

... he's all smiles again!

After the ceremony, Crystal and Travis got a few moments alone in the vineyards of Kickapoo Creek Winery, and a light rain only added to the romantic mood:

Dad gets a kiss just before the reception...

... where Crystal gets a little fiesty when sharing the cake!

A wonderful image from the first dance:

A great toast from Katina:

Showin' off that ring:

And dancin' the night away:

A huge thanks from Lanette, Tory and myself to everyone there for making us feel so welcome. It was a very unique, enjoyable experience, and I can't wait for everyone to see the rest of the images, so stick around!

Karen & Alex - May 18

UPDATE: Proofs are up and available for viewing and purchase here!

UPDATE: Just wanted to mention that I cleaned up the code for the album preview, if you tried looking at it before and there was some funkiness, try it again now. Thanks!

UPDATE: Hey, check out the album design here!

Hey everybody, thanks for hanging in there with me through the technical difficulties! Not sure what exactly the glitch is between Blogger and my website, but I found a way around the problem. So...

First full wedding of the season! Sunday the 18th saw me in Joliet, IL, for the wedding of Karen Johnson and Alexander Pegg.

The morning started early at CK Michaels Salon & Spa in Orland Park. Some interesting photos that morning, besides the hair and makeup, were Kelly working on her toast:

And a little light reading..

After the ladies were finished at the salon we headed on over to The Jacob Henry Mansion. Tory, Lanette and myself arrived early to start scouting around and getting ideas. Karen and her dad Doug arrived shortly after:

As the ceremony was scheduled for 2:00, and it was after 1:00, it was time for the preparations...

But there was still time for a few laughs:

Ceremony time, and one thing I noticed as soon as I started previewing these images was the number of great smiles, starting with Alex:

And of course Karen.

Quite impressive for just a "chapel":

Some more of those great smiles...

And a couple shots I really like of Karen and Alex as they exit the chapel.

And then something I really didn't expect, some serious karate action! :0)

We did some nice group shots and portraits of Karen, Alex and the bridal party next, but I'll save those for the album and proofs. Into the reception...

...where Doug had some very nice comments for our couple...

... and Kelly had some words of her own, including many kind words for Alex...

... as well as some pretty funny stuff. I don't want to say that Karen was getting embarrassed...but...

Apparently there were a few celebrities in attendance!

But I didn't spot them for some reason? :0)

A quick image of Betsy and Alan, very nice, too:

Our couple's first dance:

As the sun began to set, some pretty strong sunlight began filtering into the room, in some cases posing a challenge, in others offering some very nice effects:

And towards the end of the evening, a nice group photo of some very lovely ladies:

Lots more coming soon, so don't forget to check back, the album design is right around the corner (finishing it up now) as well as the entire set of proofs.

See you back soon!

Hannah Winger

I did Senior Portraits for Hannah last week... and was a bit under the gun considering that her mom Becky is a photographer as well! ;0)

We had a great time, it went very smoothly and we got some good stuff. A few quick samples:

After School Rock... rocks!!!

My friend Ian runs a great music program for kids... lessons, workshops, recording programs, called The Vaults. You can read a news article about it here.

Anyway, one aspect of the program is called After School Rock, where kids of all ages get to learn to be in a rock band. You've seen School of Rock with Jack Black, right? Same deal.

Well, a couple weeks back, the kids didn't just learn about being a rock band, they were rock bands. For a night.

The folks at Skylight Coffee hosted the performance of three of After School Rock's bands. It was a good time, I've not seen so many smiles on adult faces in so long. Heck, I was proud of these kids and I hadn't even met them before!

A quick group photo before the big show:

Nate preps the gear...

Ian checks the mic...

And it's go time!

Look at that crowd!

Awesome.

Miriam

I recently did a few promotional photos for Pulse Magazine and Blue Monday Craft Lounge.

Of course, you don't have to twist my arm to make some Fashion images!

We had fun, and I think Miriam did a great job!

Sydney & Mallory

Ok, so after a little break I'm back and I've been very busy.

You may remember Sydney from an earlier post... well, she has a little sister now! Mallory was only a week or so old when this was taken:

And a very cute one (of course) of Sydney:

I'm back!

Back from Austin, but more importantly back from computer limbo!

I had not one but two major failures last week, and while all image folders were safe, things such as as internet, email, ftp, etc. were toast for about ten days.

But, my friend Joe has me up and running again, and since I'd been planning a computer upgrade anyway, I went ahead and sprung for the MacPro dual-quad-something-or-other. Seriously though, this thing screams!

Real posts coming soon! :0)
