UPDATE: Hey everybody, the rest of the images will be up early tomorrow, sorry for the delay. We're using a new sytem of dislpaying the images and I think it will work much better.

UPDATE: The album preview is up! Click here to view it! Yay!

Wow, where to begin? Jamie had promised me a crazy day full of surprises and action, and she wasn't kidding. I began on Friday last week, at the rehearsal. Surprise #1: Jamie had arranged for her minister to invite her grandparents to renew their wedding vows. Friday was their 44th wedding anniversay and they were happy to play along!

Zach and Jamie look on:

Next it was on to dinner, which was wonderful. My favorite part of the dinner was the gift exchange. I mean, who doesn't like presents? The guys got matching Zippo's, cool, but the best gift was when Jamie surprised her little sister with a Wii.

We had time for a few photos outside the restaurant, including a quick shot of Zach and Jamie:

I spent the evening in Plainfield as the wedding day would start early. Thanks again for the wonderful room, guys! Breakfast was at Panera and after a quick photo it was next door to Ulta for makeup.

Apparently there are two things girls love, and that's makeup and shades! LOL

Come on, Jamie, when are we going?

It was on to the church next to do hair. The church had the equivelant of a small salon upstairs, very impressive.

I guess those girls were already worn out! Power nap!

Now was time for one of the most exciting surprises of the day. Jamie had arranged for her friend Jeanette to entertain the guys with a few games of pool. If Jeanette looks familiar it's because you've seen her on ESPN winning the world pool championship! :)

Well, I'd actually mentioned to a few people by this point that I'd forgotten I was there to photograph a wedding, there was just so much going on! Skipping ahead to the ceremony... Surprise #3: The bridesmaids were in place, candles were lit, Zach was holding his breath in anticipation of... this guy?!?

I mean, he _is_ wearing a skirt, but c'mon! LOL
Jamie had surprised everyone once again by having a bagpiper proceed her while playing "Here comes the Bride" in a very unique way.

Ok, I was going to mention at some point that I'm saving lots of images for the album design because otherwise this blog entry will take fifteen minutes to load! :) So, I'm skipping ahead to a couple of my favorite images to come right after the ceremony:

We spent some time at Plainfield's Metropolis getting some interesting shots. An adorable one of the girls:

And one of the guys looking very dapper:

As fun as the bridal party photos were, I think the favorite part of any wedding day for a photographer is the time alone with the bride and groom. I got sooo many awesome shots of Zach and Jamie, here's just one for now, sorry to tease!

Now to the reception, where everyone was very proud of the unique Groom's cake:

This reception was indeed a party! Rrom the entrances...

To the toasts:

Seriously, kudos to Nick and Elaine for very eloquent and heart-felt speeches! :)

Ok, I've got to wrap this up so I can start on the album design! But first another favorite of Zach dancing with his mom as the Bride looks on:

And I just have to give a preview of that party:

Well, that's all I have time for for now, thanks again to all the family, guests and last but not least my awesome staff for making this shoot so much fun! Check back sooon!!!

Sheila & Jon Paul - August 11, 2007

UPDATE: Wedding images can now be seen here!

UPDATE: The album preview is now online! See it here!

Saturday's musical extravaganza, er, I mean wedding (LOL) took place in West Lafayette at St. Thomas Aquinas. I had a great time photographing Sheila and JP's engagement session, and the wedding was also a real treat. Sheila and JP are very into music, and as many of you know, I am as well.

I started the day in Sheila's room at Purdue's Union Club Hotel. Here are a few favorites from early on:

A quick walk to St. Thom's...

... and Sheila and JP spend a moment together before beginning the rest of the big day:

I really like this one of JP!

Don't be alarmed, just a little wackiness:

And some cuteness:

We spent some time doing some group photos before the ceremony, there are lots of good ones, here's just one of my favorites of the guys...

... and a good one of Sheila and JP:

Sheila and JP did something out of the ordinary by greeting their guests as they arrived at the church.

The ceremony was beautiful, but mostly musical. I have more images than time and space allow me to post for now, but look forward to many wonderful shots from the ceremony in the album and proofs!

The reception was sure to be as interesting as the ceremony. Here's a quick shot of our best man Nick doing some last minute fine tuning of his toast:

Emily wanted to make sure everyone knew "It's a wedding cake!" LOL

The first dance was next, a very romantic image:

And on to the party, where JP entertained on the piano; he's a very impressive musician, and it was great to see a groom so involved in his own wedding!

Check back in later for the album preview!

Jennifer & Chad - August 4, 2007

UPDATE: Wedding images can now be viewed here!

UPDATE: The album preview is up! Click here to view it!

I shot my first wedding at Faith Presbyterian Church in West Lafayette on Saturday. But first were some images at a salon on the south side of Lafayette. Jen and the girls appeared to be enjoying their hair appointments...

... but I think the guys were having more fun racing go-karts! I don't know, maybe I'm biased, LOL.

We had plans to meet and begin photos at the church at 2:00, but the bride was locked out! Another first! :)

Seriously, though it was just a little mixup, and noone seemed to mind waiting a few minutes to get into the church, including Jen. You just couldn't get her down, she was getting married!

I was pleased with the lighting and colors inside the church. Understated, quaint almost but in a good way.

There were several nice moments after the ceremony, here's just one:

A couple more from after the ceremony, this one was a quick grab:

And this one just cracks me all the way up:

After a quick getaway...

... I got a little time alone with Jen and Chad. I'm very happy with the portraits we did:

This one's with a little encouragement from Jim, father of the bride:

And this one's an artsy experiment:

A couple quick candids of some of the bridal party:

One of my new favorites, the through-the-moonroof shot!

Once we hit the reception, it was party time indeed! Now that I think about it, there were LOTS of little folks there:

And some wacky folks:

And of course, some romance:

More to come in the next few days, stay tuned!
