Christine & Kyle - June 23, 2007

UPDATE: Wedding images up here!

UPDATE: The album preview is ready to view! Click here!

Happy birthday to me! I celebrated this year (privately, no sense letting the cat out of the bag as you reach my age...) with the Cox and Bruton families. More importantly, Saturday was the date for Christine and Kyle's day of days.

The big news of the day was the weather. Unfortunately, it rained for what was planned as an outdoor ceremony. Still, spirits were high as the day began. This photo of Christine from early in the day tells the story: the rain couldn't get this bride down!

Sisters were all smiles, too...

The bright colors in the Cox's home would come in handy today:

Amid the hustle and bustle was some actual bustling (practice, anyway LOL):

Christine's dad Jay stops in for a look and soon learns that his room is no longer his, for the day at least!

The ceremony had some emotional moments:

And some laughter!

Back into the house for a short escape from the rain...

And a snack!

Must've been good! LOL

Christine presents Kyle with a gift...

And steals the show (it's ok, she's allowed!):

I think it's safe to say that by now the rain was forgotten. Our couple's first dance was great fun.

Jay was not to be outdone! This was one entertaining father-daughter dance!

We managed just a couple of quick outdoor shots during a small break in the rain. One of a few good ones:

And since Christine couldn't have fireworks like she'd planned, I tried to simulate some for her:

So, happiness and family prevailed over mother nature. I'm honored once again to have the opportunity of working with such welcoming, caring families. Best wishes to the bride and groom, and many thanks to the parents and bridal party. Check back in soon for more!

Erica & Baron - June 16, 2007

UPDATE: Wedding images up here!

UPDATE: The album preview is now online! See it here!

Whew! What a day! I left Lafayette at 9:00am for Bedford, Indiana. Two and a half hours and a few wrong turns later I arrived at the spa to meet Erica and the girls. Erica had some pants with the biggest legs I've ever seen!

It was great seeing Lauren again, she's Baron's sister and I photographed her wedding a couple of years ago. Here she is helping with Erica's makeup. I LOVE this shot:

After the spa we headed to the house so everyone could get dressed. This was also my opportunity to do some shots of all the girls. Seeing as it was 95 degrees outside we opted to shoot indoors. Fortunately the Farmers have a beautiful home with a room practically made for photography.

Once we arrived at the church I had the opportunity to spend some time with Baron and the groomsmen. It was great seeing all the familiar faces, it makes me even more relaxed already knowing some of the bridal party. Check out the shot of Baron and the groomsmen on their collage page, it's one of my favorites from the day. Here's another:

Next, a few of my favorites from the ceremony, including one I think Erica's going to love:

It was literally a blessed day, even the sun was cooperating:

A few minutes of down time provided some nice candids:

Baron was really enjoying the limo:

Baron surprised Erica with a special gift at the reception:

And Erica's dad had some moves of his own:

And I'm not even sure what to say, LOL:

And to wrap up, a candid I'm very pleased with, I was hoping when I shot it to have a good silhouette:

Thanks to everyone! I had such a great time! When I think back on how long the day was I just can't believe it, it went by so fast. I'm so happy with the images, and I can't wait to show off the rest to everyone. An album design will be up real soon with lots more coming after that so check back in often!

Angela & Colin - June 9, 2007

UPDATE: Images up here!

UPDATE: The album preview is now online! See it here!

You're already familiar with this great couple if you've been reading the blog. Angela & Colin were married at the Fishers United Methodist church and their reception was at the wonderful Indianapolis Yacht Club.

I had a feeling this wedding would be all about the PARTY, and I was right, but the ceremony was very nice, too. After a little anxiety near the beginning, everyone relaxed and had a great day. The bridal party was alot of fun and very patient about their turn getting photos. Thanks guys!

A special thanks to the families for helping make the day so enjoyable! Here are some faves for right now, keep an eye out over the next week for everything else...

My trip to Summer Camp 2007

The Pat McClimans Group took me along as official photographer to the 2007 Summer Camp Music Festival in Chilicothe, IL. Along with the PMG, some noteworthy performers were Les Claypool, Umphrey's McGee, Medeski Martin and Wood and Moe.

The PMG played a satisfying set on one of the smaller stages, then Pat sat in with Moe during their headlining performance on the main stage Friday night! It was lots of good fun, but I was glad to get home to my wife, kids, and SHOWER!!!

Sheila & Jon Paul

Another engagement! I think my readers are going to start thinking all I do is shoot engagements and weddings! Just kidding, but after all, that's sort of the point, right?

Sheila and JP were great to work with, they knew I was after fun, playfulness and emotion, and they made it easy! The wedding should be a piece of cake. JP and I share a bond as fellow drummers, if nothing else we've had to put up with all those drummer jokes that guitarists like to make, LOL.

Angela & Colin

The other day I did a full engagement shoot for Angela and Colin. Again, they look just wonderful! The wedding is actually this Saturday, so stay tuned for some wedding images!

Come out and see the band!

Hey y'all! For anyone who's interested, my vintage country band Moonshine Mason and the Rot Gut Gang are playing our only show of this summer tomorrow night, Saturday June 2nd!

Come out and see what your wedding photographer does when he's not 'on the clock' (just don't hold the shenanigans against me... too much).
