Lindsey & Joe...

This week's shoot was an engagement rather than wedding. Lindsey, Joe and I met at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for a relaxed session... at least I was relaxed, LOL! No, seriously, they were great and I think we all had a good time.

Update 5/25/06: So Shayla and Mark's preliminary album is up here. It was definitely an inspired design, not as many pages as some, but I feel it's a matter of quality over quantity, no doubt about it. We never go about a design with a pre-determined approach, anyway (no target on number of pages, no template, etc.), preferring to let each album come together on it's own, telling each couples' story. I hope you like!

Friday wedding this week , which is unusual, but to top it off it was at a very nice Baptist church. I'll be honest, we don't really get too excited over Baptist churches as photographers: they aren't normally very... ornate. However, I was pleasantly surprised at several of the opportunities available at West Lafayette's Federated Baptist Church, the balcony in particular.

More importantly, I had a great couple, very good-looking and very friendly. I think I've mentioned it before but Mark is such a pleasure to work with and Shayla is so beautiful. Thanks to the families, who were wonderful, and to the staff at the Lafayette Country Club who were fantastic to work with.

Last Saturday's wedding was in Plainfield, Indiana with the Shaneyfelts' and Pingletons'. Thank you so much to everyone for making us feel welcome! I've picked out some favorites to show while I work on an album design as well as editing the rest of the images. Enjoy!

Update 5/17/06: I'm working on the edits of all the images at this point, it's pretty much always slow-going, as the process is very hands-on and intensive. I should have ALL the images available for viewing within a few days, please check back.

Update 5/10/06: I'm working on an album design for Sara and Aaron and it's going great! I was telling Tom that it's going to be a very colorful, fun album... I'm defintely having fun designing it! There are so many good images to choose from, I can't wait until they get to see it. Check back here soon because it won't be long! :^D

This weekend I was in Zionsville for Sara Balensiefer and Aaron Ransdell's wedding. Perfect weather for shooting a wedding and driving the convertible, so I did both! Ok, so I already knew I was shooting the wedding...

Sara was very excited to hire me for her photography, and I was in turn very excited about the wedding. Everyone was super all day, and I think we all did a great job: they're married and I have pictures of it, LOL.

We defintely had some excellent opportunities for photography, here are a few favorites until I get an album design up... check back in a couple of days for updates! Click on the images to view them at a larger size.

Update 5/4/06: I really think I might have out-done myself on this one. I've done nothing but work on the album since yesterday and I can't believe how well it's coming together. I think I'm going to be really proud of this one. I hope Kristen and Jeff like it as much as I do... I wish it were MY wedding album, LOL. I think it's going up tomorrow for sure, stay tuned!

Update 5/3/06: I'm going to start working on the album today... I can't wait. I'm hoping to have it posted here very soon, keep an eye out for the proofs, too. It should all be up within the next week.

I'd been waiting for this wedding shoot for a long time. I photographed Michael and Kathryn Tate's wedding last year (fabulous!) and that's where I met Kristen and Jeff. These two are so in love, I didn't really feel like I was working whatsoever, merely pointing the camera at them and capturing the affection these two share.

The wedding was at St. Thomas Aquinas, a church I enjoy shooting in quite a bit, but it did rain, spoiling a few plans I had for shooting outside. As an alternate measure we took picctures inside the Purdue Union building. I must say, I ended up with so many good images inside the Union that I really can't complain about the rain at all.

Thank you to both families for making me feel welcome and appreciated, you're all very lucky to have one another. I can't wait to begin designing the album, and until I can get the rest of the images sorted through, here are a few favorites so far:
