Janette & Rick - July 19, 2008

Saturday was a hot day in West Lafayette! And St.Thom's doesn't have much in the way of air conditioning!
As you can imagine, however, that did not slow our activities down one bit.
Janette gets a little help from her sisters early on:
And pretty soon mom is on board, too.
Things were in full swing and before long it will be ceremony time!
But first Janette must get the dress on. A one-of-a-kind affair, it was made by our bride and mother with input from several people (more on that later). Layer one on and layer two in progress:

And some of the details, which were contributed by friends, a piece at a time:
I caught the gals in a very lovely moment just before the ceremony, not a posed shot, I called for their attention as they were walking away from me, I just happened to notice the light and the way they were grouped. I'm very pleased with this one!
Moving on, our ceremony begins with a handshake...
Some singing (and let me tell you, this was quite the musical wedding... is it any wonder, JP Hurt was there!)...

Ok, so if you're reading this, you may well know that Janette and Rick are a... unique couple. LOL Perhaps nothing sums it up better than the groom's cake? :0)
The rest of the decor was very nice indeed:

Another way of doing things just a little differently, our couple toast one another:
Now here's something you don't see everyday; I wouldn't be surprised if this were a world record:
And we wrap things up with some dancing as Rick's mother looks on:

First of all--this preview of the pictures look wonderful...can't wait to see all. But--Janette made her dress and corset layer. I made the overdress and put together the panel of pieces. But she made her dress. Lois, MOB

It was so nice to have you at the wedding and the pictures look incredible. It is clear you are an artist and a very passionate one. You and your assistant had such a relaxing presence at the wedding. You have a perfect balance of being directive when instructing a group of people where to be in a shot, and being unobtrusive while getting really good candid photos. Thanks so much.
