Heather approached us for some photography showcasing her floral designs. Even though we’d never met, we’d “worked together” on a wedding in Frankfort last summer for Brittany and Cameron. Heather was a delight to work with, and I’m glad we had nice weather… it was nice to get out and move around again!

What was meant to be a “mini” session (as I call them) yielded “full sized” results. Many of our wedding clients take us up on the offer of an in-studio “mini” engagement session when weather is cold and the full outdoor session won’t happen until weather warms up. In Claire’s case, she brought so many ideas that this could have easily sufficed for the full shoot! Love it!

Missy and Alex were in town from New Jersey just long enough for a quick Engagement Photo Session. We met in Seattle in July, 2010 at the Phillips-Link wedding. Missy and Alex’s wedding photos should be quite a contrast from these… featuring sunny skies and beaches as we head to the Bahamas for their event! Stay tuned.

UPDATE: Tami and Andrew’s personalized website is now live! Sit back and enjoy a few more favorites in the introductory slideshow, see the Signature Print, and click the “Purchase Images” link to register to be notified as soon as the album design and proofs go live.

Tami and Andrew’s wedding brings a close to my wedding season for the year. What a great wedding to end on! Tami and Drew were friends of friends when they first hired me a year ago. Today I am privileged to just call them friends.

If Tami or Andrew were nervous at all on the day neither of them showed any of it. I don’t think they would have been rattled even if the day had gone off schedule, but of course it never did… unless you count the unity candle near miss, but Tami was not about to walk away from the altar without lighting that bad boy!

The Lafayette Country Club blew me away this weekend. I have known the venue to be visually quite beautiful, and the shots I get are always great in there. What caught me off guard this time was the food and service. I have always attended buffet style weddings at the club in the past. The plated service was something else entirely. It was some of the best catering I have had in Lafayette or Indy. Oh, and of course the flash mob for Tami was a great personal touch.

Stay tuned to this post. At the end of the week we will have a link for Tami and Andrew’s personalized web page with a slide show of more images including the flash mob, toasts, and more!

UPDATE: View Kat and Eric’s personal website here! See more faves, check out their (unbelievable) Signature Edition Print, and click on Purchase Images to register to see all their images! The album Design will be available to view soon, be sure and register to be notified!

What makes for a beautiful wedding day? Loving families, caring professionals, beautiful venues and great friends. Kat and Eric had all those and more. Yesterday was my first day at St. Therese Little Flower Parish, and in my opinion it is one of Indianapolis’ best kept secrets! Beautiful and inviting! Father Bob was a pleasure to work with as well.

Joan, Sharon, Tom and Grant all did everything one could do to make their children’s day a special one, and it was evident. I’ve never seen a woman as happy as Joan was yesterday. Thanks to them for their patience and support. Thanks also to Tonya from Circle City Planners for making each transition throughout the day an effortless one. Thank you to Tara for her help with lighting and of course to Michael for his expertise. Thank you to everyone involved for allowing me the time to indulge in some artisitic freedom – the photo beside the public library on Meridian was one I’d been planning for quite some time.

Lest I forget to mention it, the Scottish Rite Cathedral is a special place indeed, and it was this excellent choice of venue that kept me excited with anticipation for months leading to the day of the event. Thank you Kat and Eric for asking me to be part of such a special day.

Please enjoy these favorites for now, and come back Friday for Kat and Eric’s personalized website, to include their Signature Edition print, album design and full wedding proofs. Stay tuned!

You’ll also be notified as soon as the album design and Signature Print are available – in just a few days!

October has been a whirlwind month here at the studio. With all the projects we have  going on this fall it is nice and relaxing to spend a wedding day just shooting.

Looking back, what stands out most in my mind was the constant laughter. Kristen and Ben love to laugh and have surrounded themselves with friends who are the same. All day long it never stopped – from Kristen making a point to blow the biggest bubble she could during her make up, to Ben and the boys giving each other a hard time getting dressed at the studio, to practical jokes up at the altar (the rubber snake was my favorite), all the way to the dance floor antics. Everyone was laughing all day long.

Here are a few of my early favorites, check back in one week for the personalized web page and more images in a slide show.

UPDATE: Ann and Matt’s personalized website is up! Enjoy the slideshow images, and watch for the Signature Print in a few days. Make sure and click on “Purchase Images” and register to be notified when each new element goes live… like the album design and the proofs!

It’s pretty strange to start work at 2:00pm on a Saturday. Kinda threw me off a little. But when I reminded myself how laid-back Ann and Matt are, and that if I wasn’t careful I would end up being the high-maintenance one, I was fine.

No bridal party… one location… what was I to do with myself?!? Plenty, as it turns out! The Fowler House is a spectacular venue, as I learned at Holly and Jon’s wedding in August. It’s not about what you include but what you leave out… I could shoot for days in there. Ann and Matt were very accommodating, I felt as though they were simply humoring my little artsy-fartsy indulgences half the time! Thank you!

The day remained beautiful, and warm, and I enjoyed it thoroughly from beginning to finish. Tory did a remarkable job from behind the second camera, my friend Christopher did a great job with entertainment, and the cake was DELICIOUS! I must’ve had three pieces. Oops.

Here are my favorites for now, check back in Friday for their personalized website!

UPDATE: Mitzi and Ron’s personal website is up. See more favorites, their Signature Edition Print, and click the “Purchase Images” link to see the Engagement Session images and register to see all of the photos when they go online. You’ll also be notified as soon as the album design is available to view.

The combination of Mitzi and Ron’s families mingling together in one house was powerful. Last Saturday there was way too much food for the kitchen, and the aromas filled the house. Way too many people for the space, and the hum of conversation and laughter was constant. No matter where you went you could not escape the sense of family, family, family. I have been a fan of the backyard weddings since the very first wedding I shot years ago, and after last weekend I am an even bigger fan.

Stay tuned to this post as the weeks go by. We will have a personalized web page up with a slideshow on Friday, followed by an album design 10 days after that.

Wabash Landing felt like a little mini resort on Saturday. The girls were getting ready with hair and makeup at Evan Todd, meanwhile right across the walkway the guys were enjoying beer, food, and football at Scotty’s Brewhouse. The hotel where everyone changed was literary right around corner. Across the street the walking bridge and Heritage trail made for some fun location shots. Removing travel time and keeping the first half of the day in a 2 block radius, compounded with Ali and Carson’s easy going temperament made for one of the easiest, most relaxing wedding mornings I have ever “worked”.

Stay tuned to the this post for the next month. I will have a personalized page, with a slide show and signature print this Friday, followed by the album design and proofs shortly after.

UPDATE: Amanda and Brett’s personalized website is ready. Enjoy more images via the slideshow, and tune in for the Signature Print in a few days. Click on “Purchase Images” and register to be notified when each piece goes live… like the album design and the proofs!

Something about Monticello and ISPhotographic produces unique experiences… Our second visit this year equated to our second-ever wedding to lose electricity during the event. No matter – in both instances we soldiered on, achieving some of the most beautiful results I could imagine. In fact, Amanda’s candle-lit decor almost provided better ambiance than when her reception was lit. Perhaps they should have left the lights off?!? Nah, probably not.

At any rate, I’ve really enjoyed working with Amanda and Brett – they’re both fairly quiet people, which allows me the freedom to jabber… something I do well. They also allow me the freedom to run with whatever I like, creatively speaking. They fulfilled my long standing desire to do a “carny” themed Engagement Session (at the one and only Indiana Beach), I talked Amanda into a hanger with her name, and they also provided me another unique opportunity… you’ll have to tune in later in the week to see more!

I also discovered that we have a common interest in motorcycling – I’ve been promised we’d ride together eventually!

Here are my favorites for now, expect their personalized website to launch on Friday, so check back then!
