You might remember the Carlisle family from an earlier post. Here’s my friend Ryan’s son in his first Halloween costume:

So Canon introduced their newest in their mid-level digital SLR range a few weeks ago. I picked one up nearly right away and started doing some testing. The big new developments for the camera are it’s 15 Megapixel rating, 3200 ISO shooting ability and new LiveView shooting. I’m not impressed with the LiveView feature (the ability to view a live image on the LCD screen while shooting – it doesn’t work well IMO).

The higher pixel count is both a blessing and a curse. Images are now 10×15 inches at print size right out of the box, which makes album layouts a breeze, which is nice. However, the larger files eat up memory like crazy. The new MacPro can handle it no problem (eight processors, anyone?), but I’m now going through DVD’Rs like nobody’s business!

Anyway, here are some sample images, and I’ll be commenting later on how the new 50d stacks up against it’s competition, the Nikon D300…

One of the first images with the new camera. This is Noah, he is designing the new look of the blog, which you’ll see soon, as well as some of the graphics for the upcoming “Photographic Brides” series. Stay tuned!

Some coasters in the Black Sparrow:

My friend James from the Woodstove Flapjacks:

All images were hand held using the Canon 24-70 f2.8L lens and shot at 3200 ISO.

UPDATE: Proofs can be viewed and purchased here!

UPDATE: The preliminary album design is now online here! I hope Art & Mary have access to a computer right now ’cause I can’t wait for them to see it!

Saturday was a long but wonderful day spent in Chicago’s suburbs. Tory and I arrived early in the afternoon to begin coverage for Art Henry and Mary Szczepanski. You may remember Art and Mary from their engagement photo sessions. They are a fun couple, bursting with love for life and each other! It was very nice meeting some of their friends and family, they all made Tory and I feel part of the group.

The ceremony was nice, and I got a shot of Art as he sees Mary in her dress for the first time that I’m just thrilled with. Really, I’m very happy with all the images so far. After the ceremony we had time for a little goofing off, and finally the reception was a blast! Incredible food, I’m still thinking about it!

So, please enjoy this brief sampling for now, there will be lots more coming during the next week!

UPDATE: Nikki and Matt’s Signature Edition Print can be viewed here!

Saturday brought me to an area from my past in Brownsburg, IN. I lived there for a few years with my family when I was like seven. Attended South Elementary school… that’s about all I remember, except that it was a much smaller town then.

Anywho, the wedding was actually in nearby Lizton. Nikki and Matt have been such a fun couple… the engagement session was a breeze, and the wedding was about as relaxed as they get! It certainly didn’t feel like working much of the time… which is fine with me! :0)

A big thank you to everyone there, I’m going to leave you with some favorites for now, keep an eye out for more in just a few days!
