UPDATE: Katie & Corey personalized website is now live! Check out more favorites in the introductory slideshow. The Signature Print is up also, be sure to click the “Purchase Images” link to register to be notified as soon as the album design and full proofs go live.
Katie’s Grandmother, mother, and sister and now Katie have all been married in the same church. Interestingly enough, there has been a photo taken from the same location and angle every time. If I did nothing else that day I had to get that shot again. Katie’s mother, Rose, emailed me the shot beforehand. I put the image on my phone so that I could line up the shot exactly. It worked like a charm.
Even with all this historic recreation, I will probably most remember Katie as the barefoot bride. Kate’s shoes for the day looked cute, however they were clearly not built for comfort. Rather than be in pain all day Katie decided to simply go barefoot most of the day, even when we went outside. It adds a wonderful bit of character to all of my shots where her barefeet made it in.
Katie and Corey’s personalized webpage will go live early next week. From there, you will be able to see a slideshow with 30 more images immediately. You will also be able to register to be informed when the album design, Signature Print, and full image proofs (including all the family photo’s) are ready. Stay tuned to this post, as I will update it as soon as the personalized page is live. Of course thanks go out to Hussam for assisting and second shooting the day. You make me work that much faster, and certain shots are simply just impossible to capture with just one person.

Love the eighteen month child portrait! I had a great time meeting Rachael, Patrick and Luke. So wonderful when working doesn’t feel like work!

How does one approach a photo session with a graphic designer and a stylist as subjects? Turn on the camera and shoot…

Weather. When I comment about it it’s usually due to heat. Or cold. Or snow. How about hurricane force winds? LOL
Luckily Brittney and Josh wanted to work at the White River canals in Indianapolis. The fact that we were below ground level for much of the shoot helped, as the wind really was exceptionally… forceful. Here’s to a great looking couple – you made my day’s work VERY easy!

Always learning something new with this project, watch the episode and learn how increased fitness will make your event the best it can be! Thank you to Kathy and Nancy!
UPDATE: Mari and Don’s personalized website is now live! Sit back and enjoy a few more favorites in the introductory slideshow. The Signature Print will be chosen next week, be sure to click the “Purchase Images” link to register to be notified as soon as the album design and full proofs go live.
I am in love with all the little things Mari did for her wedding. Nearly everything was either found used or handmade. It gave the whole day a cohesive vintage feeling, while not being simply color-coordinated.
Bear with me while I give the breakdown of my favorite details.
First off, I am a sucker for birdcage veils, and Mari had two of them! I love the human face as a subject and birdcage veils help add another layer of depth for me visually. I had to restrain myself on this post because I could have filled it with just shots of Mari and her veils!
Don got classic Buck Knives for his groomsmen that were hand engraved by Don himself.
The bridesmaid dresses were not only all different styles but in a bold move were all white (well ivory, but still!). The flowergirl did not drop petals, but rather carried an original and cute sign.
After the ceremony Don and Mari ran out into an epic bubble line that went on and on and on along the path to their car.
At the reception the homemade details were simply too many to mention (but I will try); a clothesline of table names, a homemade dessert bar, cute paper cake toppers, a second more comfortable wedding dress for Mari, a thumb print guestbook, and more.
I wish I could include more shots in this post of all her great ideas. You will simply have to check back in 7days when the personal page goes up. Then again in 30 days when Mari and Don’s album design is finished.
